COLOURS & DYES
We have often been asked if it is possible to produce coloured foam, well the simple answer is yes!
There are, however, two important things to remember with dyes; firstly the dye must be a food grade product in case customers ingest any. Our dyes are certified food grade and are, therefore, perfectly safe for use in the foam. The second point is the potential for staining clothing and fabrics.
It is not possible to colour the foam without running the risk of staining customers clothing, having said this, our dyes are water soluble so can be washed out of most fabrics providing they are washed immediately. It is also important to be careful about the amount of dye you add to your mix, obviously the more dye you add the more dense and vibrant the resultant foam becomes but the potential for staining clothes also increases.
The simple answer is to display disclaimer/warning notices and don’t go mad with the colour! Our dyes are water soluble and supplied in powder form, in 250g packs. Dye colours can be mixed to create your own specific colours.
